Is it Contemporary? Abstract? Modern?

I refer to my art as contemporary and abstract. 

By today's standards many might also consider this modern.    Modern art and modernism (as defined in the artistic world) refer to works created from the 1860's to the 1970's.  Abstraction is one of the themes of modern art as was the ability to stray from conventional painting and move towards experimenting with new and different ideas.  Modern art was a time period in history which has passed. 

I tend to use shape, form and color in my work which would render it  both contemporary and abstract.
